Why and how do people get involved with participatory culture communities such as Burning Man? What does this involvement bring into one's life and what does it not bring? What might the future look like for the people who were involved in some of the projects and regional events?

The questions of the 45-minute presentation will be shortly illustrated by the latest research results from Burning Stories, Burning Progeny and few other research projects. The practical examples are drawn both from Burning Man (US) and the Nordic Burning Man community Borderland.

Delicate Flower is the solo project of Cameron Beamer, San Diego native. In this simple singer songwriter format, Cameron keeps his audience guessing with his mixture of folky fingerpicking and acoustic punk energy. His lyrics find humor in darkness and breathe new musical energy into the age-old tales of love and loss, as told by a misfit.
We welcome him to the Embassy SF for a special small-scale house show. Please come with anything you need to listen and be moved.

An AI-enabled book is our trusted companion in learning. As a digital book, it not only understands the content of the book, but it understands, what we have learned. It does so by answering our questions, and asking us questions. It is a book that comes alive when we interact with it, and has a Marauder's Map of where we are. Most of all, it is a book that we can all play with.

Dr. Vinay Chaudhri is formerly a program director of the AI lab at SRI International, and currently affiliated with Sanford University. He has devoted his career ...

With the little AirPod earbud in our ears we are all starting to look and act more like cyborgs and becoming more like a cyborg society driven by AI algorithms. Is that good or bad for our well-being? Beginning from the invention of fire, all technical innovations have always had the potential to be used for good and bad. Thus, powerful technologies easily become a double edged sword. On one ...
