A salon series focused on near term opportunities for influencing or setting precedents. This month's inaugural salon will use the thought experiment of a lunar power station to introduce and explore key challenges and questions that will be faced.

Consider a solar power station on the moon near a peak of eternal light. Who or what entity, if any, gives permission? How would it be owned, how it would it be financed, what mechanisms or rights would be available to users? Who would get to use it, and what currencies would be used to pay for those services, etc.?

Could saving the world be a game? Oh yeah it can. But you have to do it right.

There is a new era of environmental change emerging. The planet is being covered in sensors that are acting like digital eyes and ears, giving us unprecedented data about the earth like never before.

Like a “Fitbit for the planet” we can use this data to unveil environmental impacts that we never had access to before, and use it in new and innovative ways to tap into the motivational core of humans so we can really start to drive measurable change.

This is a support circle for people practicing or wishing to practice RA. Living out anarchist principles in a world full of rules, coercion and privatization is tough, and and relationship anarchists face different sets of struggles and issues. This is a place for us to support each other, share our stories and learnings and provide mutual aid.

Anarchism is the rejection of the idea that others should govern us. Specifically that there is a ruling state that controls and governs it’s citizens. As Noam Chomsky puts it:

“That is what I have always understood to be the essence ...

Sundays are for reading, writing your manifesto, getting feedback on your theory of change :)

Democracy is under threat. In the past months we have seen a recrudescence of national and conservative claims submerging the political discourse and media. In a fragile political climate, democratic institutions are increasingly weakening – more than ever, we need to take action to regain agency on the world that surrounds us and the policies that govern us.

We bring you Revolution Sundays - coworking for the sociopolitically minded. Come and join us to quietly work on whatever it is that you are doing to ...

We often think about “communism” from the perspective of revolutionary states avowing (if not following) communist principles. In so doing, we do not see how principles and practices of sharing, mutual aid, and equality emerge and develop in everyday life, in overt or covert distinction to principles and practices based upon the accumulation of capital. What could be called “everyday communism” is, in fact, one of the primary ways in which people survive the inequities of capitalism and develop models of life free from the structures and pressures of capitalist accumulation.

Artificial Intelligence Safety (AIS or AI Safety) is a small field, partly because it is very new, and is mostly talent-constrained. Given the high stakes of an uncontrolled intelligence explosion, increasing the amount of AIS researchers is crucial for the long-term future of humanity.

This salon is meant to discuss the creation of an all level and multidisciplinary AI safety working group that will meet regularly and work on prerequisites acquisition to be able to read and understand AI safety research papers (following Road to AI Safety Excellence curriculum). No technical background is required at all, but yes, learning it ...
